The municipality of Veere consists of 13 centres, all with an individual character: stunning coastal towns that all have a different look and attract different types of visitors.

 Thanks to its authentic, artisanal village centres located further inland, the municipality of Veere is an unusual destination with a large and varied offering. 

Aagtekerke
Aagtekerke is just a stone's throw from Domburg, and close to Oostkapelle. If you are looking for some peace and quiet during your holiday, this is the place for you. Centrally located, Aagtekerke is the perfect base to discover the island of Walcheren. Grab a bike and cycle to one of the beautiful beaches in the area or take a walk through nature to experience Dutch country life.
Zoutelande
Together with Dishoek and Westkapelle, this area is also known as the Zeeland Riviera. Zoutelande offers the most beautiful dunes of Walcheren: high, rugged, and a feast for the eyes. You can paraglide and hike here, and it is the perfect place for runners who want to get some altitude metres under their belt. The village is pleasantly crowded and because the dunes break the wind, it is a delightful place to enjoy a bite to eat or a drink even when it cools down.
Westkapelle
What's in a name? This village is situated on the westernmost tip of the island. The broad seafront offers sweeping views across the Walcheren hinterland. As you approach Westkapelle, you can't help but notice the lighthouses, Zeeland's finest. Westkapelle offers surfing, as does Domburg. On a fine day you will see many surfers in the water. Go for a lovely stroll around the village and enjoy the varied culinary offerings.
Serooskerke
This typical Walcheren village is situated near Middelburg and adjacent to Vrouwenpolder. In the village you can enjoy peace and quiet as well as conviviality. There are various shops, cafés and restaurants here. The Oosterschelde National Park, which is located nearby, can also be discovered from here.
Oostkapelle
This picturesque village is surrounded by beautiful natural areas. From the village you can take a walk through the beautiful forest and the dunes, and end up on the clean sweeping beaches of Oostkapelle. A perfect spot for hiking and cycling enthusiasts! Imagine yourself in the olden days while visiting Kasteel Westhove, and admire the wild horses in the Oranjezon nature reserve.
Meliskerke
This village with its leaning church tower is the backdrop of the famous book "Een dorsvloer vol confetti" (A Threshing Floor Covered in Confetti) by Franca Treur. If you want to alternate between the beach and some culture and history, this village is the perfect base. The local butcher and baker are famous for their traditional products, and attract many local shoppers from nearby villages. Tip! Try standing under the church steeple, and look up.
Koudekerke
From Koudekerke, it only takes a few minutes by bike to reach the beautiful clean beaches of Dishoek. The village itself has a lovely square built around the church, where in summer you will find scores of cyclists enjoying a drink or snack during their ride. Adjacent to both Middelburg and Vlissingen, it is the perfect base camp to enjoy the beach, nature and the city.
Grijpskerke
The village of Grijpskerke is located right in the centre of the island of Walcheren. It is centrally located near Buttinge where you can visit a stunning Mediterranean garden. Whether you want to spend a day in the provincial capital of Middelburg, or are headed to the coast to enjoy the stunning beaches: from Grijpskerke you will get there in no time. Grab a bike and discover the beautiful nature in the area.
Gapinge
The picturesque village of Gapinge is located near Veere, in the middle of the countryside. Why not cycle over to the Veerse Meer, a real Walhalla for water sports enthusiasts. The village itself exudes tranquillity and is built around the church. It is an excellent base for lovely cycle trips to explore the island of Walcheren.
Domburg
With its unusual light and healthy air, Domburg is one of the most beautiful seaside resorts in Zeeland. Its convivial centre features lots of boutiques, and restaurants where you can catch the evening sun on one of the many terraces after a perfect day on the beach. Whether you are looking for a wellness day, surfing or a yoga class on the beach: there are many reasons why people keep coming back to Domburg.
Biggekerke
In this village, the flour is still milled in the traditional way. Its central location is ideal. The beautiful clean beaches of Dishoek and Zoutelande are not far from Biggekerke. Enjoy the silence and the authentic atmosphere in the village. Several hiking and cycling routes run past Biggekerke, where you can enjoy the unspoilt nature of Zeeland.
Veere
Walking through Veere, you imagine yourself in the past. With its historic village centre and elegant marina, Veere is a popular spot. Take a lovely stroll along Veerse Meer and discover the old defences, which date back to the days of Napoleon. Enjoy the old town centre and the beautiful buildings such as the Grote Kerk, or grab a bite to eat in one of the quality restaurants the village boasts.
Vrouwenpolder
Nestled in between Veerse Meer on one side and the North Sea on the other, Vrouwenpolder is a unique spot. Water sports enthusiasts and sun lovers happily gather together here. With its beautiful wide beaches, perfect kitesurfing and several diving locations, many locals also love hanging out here. The Oosterschelde National Park and the Oranjezon Nature Reserve are within cycling distance of this lovely spot.
